Franchesca Noelle Beau

Biography

Franchesca is a British artist based in the Swiss Alps, working between the Pays d’Enhaut and the Saanenland. Born in London and raised in the English countryside near Oxford, her early connection to animals and landscape continues to inform her work.

She spent twenty four years living and painting in Southern California, in Orange County and north of San Diego, where she met and worked under the guidance of her late mentor.    This extended period of practice shaped her intuitive approach and deepened her understanding of colour as an expressive force. As she says: I use colour to express myself.

Working primarily in oil and watercolour, Franchesca paints landscapes, animals, and still life drawn from her immediate surroundings. Her landscapes are intuitive and atmospheric, reflecting inner states and mood as much as place. Through confident brushwork her animals take on a distinct presence and individual character. The work is honest, expressive, and quietly compelling.

Franchesca’s paintings are exhibited exclusively at her gallery in Rougemont, where she lives and works.
